KBT450 series MAP modified atmosphere packaging machine is a vertical type MAP packaging equipment, which is designed to keep food products fresh at small to medium capacity. The products are packaged in pre-made plastic containers of various sizes and shapes (rectangular, square, round, triangle, etc. plastic trays, bowls, cups).

Modified atmosphere packaging
Modified Atmosphere Packaging is also known as gas filling, gas flushing, protective atmosphere packaging or reduced oxygen packaging. The atmosphere filled in the package atmosphere has been modified in some way, usually with one or a combination of three gases: nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and oxygen.
Modified Atmosphere enables fresh and minimally processed packaged food products to maintain visual, textural and nutritional appeal so it is a highly effective method to help retailers deliver added value to their food customers:

How does Modified Atmosphere Packaging work?
The Modified Atmosphere Package environment is formed from finely balanced mixed normal atmospheric gases. The finely balanced MAP gas mix slows down the product aging process to reduce color loss, odor and off-taste resulting from product deterioration, spoilage and rancidity caused by mold and other anaerobic organisms.
A carefully controlled Modified Atmosphere Package achieves and maintains an optimal respiration rate to preserve the fresh colour, taste and nutrient content of red meat, seafood, minimally processed fruits and vegetables, pasta, prepared foods, cheese, baked goods, cured meats and dried foods throughout extended shelf life.

Longer shelf life MAP packages allow food processors, food manufacturers, food distributors and food retailers to better control product quality, availability and costs.
Longer freshness cycles permit grocers to eliminate frequent product rotation, removal and restocking; thereby reducing labour and waste disposal costs.

What equipment do you need to launch a MAP modified atmosphere packaging projet for your food products?
- MAP modified atmsphere packaging machine
- Gas mixer for filling of mixed air. If you need to fill in trays with mixed air of oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen, a gas mixer is necessary. Some of the gas mixer brands: WITTGAS, HODA, AMETEK MACON.
- Gas analyzer : To analyze if the filled in air ratio is correct. This is very important for the quality of MAP packaging.

- KBT450 modified atmosphere packaging is made of food-grade SUS304 stainless steel, inline with food hygienic regulations, guarantees the longest service life, and best MAP packaging quality.
- Applies "Vacuum - Gas Filling" technology. Vacuum the chamber first, then fill in gas, much better than the old-fashion gas flushing method, which guarantees gas purity, and saves gas sources.
- Date printing available by installing an inkjet on top of the machine
- Reliable registration mark sensor: Ensures 100% accuracy in printed film sealing.
- Safety: Equipped with emergency stop; Alarm; Open-phase protector; anti-phase protector.
- Control system: Use MITSUBISHI 3GA20MT memorable PLC, together with MITSUBISHI touch screen, easy to set up and modify motions and parameters. Motions are driven by MITSUBISHI high precision positioning servo motor, ensures 100% accuracy and stability.
- Temperature control system: MITSUBISHI 4 channel temperature control module, higher precision than temperature control button system; Overheating alarm; Split type heating plate with grids, guarantees better sealing quality.

For small machines, like double chamber vacuum packaging machine, belt type continuous vacuum packaging machine, vertical type MAP/VSP machine, the lead time is usually 10-15 working days; For larger machines, like thermoforming packaging machines, automatic MAP machines, the lead time is usually 25-40 working days.
